The road leading to the lakes, it couldn’t be simpler
You think you’ve reached your destination when the route starts to look back at you
Memories in place
Mapping the wrong way
Someone, some day, inversed and changed the names of the lakes, and then told them to Google
Google repeated them
And now, tongues circle the lakes seven times before locating them when it’s time to tell their stories
Nothing is black and white anymore
Certainly not Lac Noir or Lac Blanc
The place is a reminder that maps say
What we want them to say
Expose the ventriloquism
