“It’s part of Saint-Godefroi’s folklore, even though it’s officially located in Shigawake. Baptiste Francœur lived right across the street, but it was on Eddie Vautier’s land. It’s where everybody first learned to skate. There was even a canteen in the winter. Eddie Vautier charged 10–15 cents to skate.”²

“It’s a cedar forest and a dead lake; we used to make up stories about witches, when we were young.”³
