The location shown on the map is approximate in order to preserve the privacy of the place.

In the past, a walking trail and footbridge were built to enable the public to visit this relaxing spot with its waterfall.

Shigawake Falls had been a favourite of the French-speaking community for a long time. They used all live on the 3e Rang and knew how to get to the falls from the north, taking a less rugged path than the one from the south.

The English community (who came from the village) started visiting the falls more often after the bridge and trail were completed. Whether for trout fishing or simply to enjoy a Sunday stroll, the falls were a firm favourite for locals wanting to enjoy nature.

The ease of access and geographical concentration of linguistic communities—which was greater at the time—played a role in the popularity of activities on this site.

Today, the falls are no longer accessible from either the north or the south, as they are located on private land. We don’t know exactly where; all we can say is “somewhere.” The forest jealously guards the memories of this place and lets its beauty spill out, whether or not there is anyone there to see it.
