In villages where the French and English live side by side, strange neologisms are formed, based on the pronunciation of a word in the other language, adapted to that of the speaker… And, of course, there are a few changes along the way. 

The intriguing place name Pâtisseric simply comes from a French adaptation of Pat’s Creek, a small stream.
